'Hope', symbolizes hope for the people of northern Mozambique in the fight against the jihadist insurgency.
'Ekotto Nnaari' in the Makhuwa dialect means 'No War'!
In this painting, a Makhuva woman from the province of Cabo Delgado is wearing a scarf as in the painting "Girl with a Pearl Earring" by Johannes Vermeer. Her face is covered with 'Mussiro', a traditional beauty cream also used as an ornament.
She smiles hopefully next to her noble friend, the dog.

Fado is a Portuguese musical genre, very traditional that assuming the representation of fate as inevitable, poetic and tragic destiny, a history that is told, feels, and sings. I expressed this idea with some visual elements merged in a recipe rather bizarre.
The Douro river in the background, with typical boats carrying barrels of Porto wine gives a poetic atmosphere, which overlaps a guitar, the singer Amalia Rodrigues and the figure of Karo man with painted face. We can read lyrics excerpts from fado's Amália in the background, and on the whole set, scrawls symbolizing written musical notes by naive way.
